The Fontijne Presses LabEcon Series – available with pressing capacities of 300 kN, 600 kN or 1000 kN – is an automated hydraulic laboratory press that incorporates many of the advanced functions and features of our high-end LabPro Series.
Highly regarded by professionals, the LabEcon Series is known for its precise and consistent pressing quality and is widely used as a standard press for sample preparation in quality control (QC) and research & development (R&D) applications.
Depending on the model (300, 600, or 1000), the LabEcon offers pressing forces up to 1000 kN and temperatures up to 300 °C. Regardless of the selected settings, it consistently delivers accurate and repeatable results.
Thanks to its compact footprint, the LabEcon can be easily installed in any laboratory environment.
Its ergonomic design and intuitive touchscreen control are highly appreciated by laboratory technicians.
The LabEcon Series is equipped with several safety features, including a fixed upper platen, an emergency stop system, and a protective safety cover.
Designed for demanding quality control and R&D applications, the LabEcon Series ensures maximum precision, repeatability, and ease of operation in every process.
Each LabEcon press is delivered with our advanced ProView control system, featuring a 15-inch touchscreen for precise control of temperature and closing force.
The large, clear display provides an excellent overview of all parameters and process progress, ensuring maximum comfort and control for the operator.
In addition, the system includes an automatic venting/degassing cycle, which allows the press to automatically open and close after a pre-set time to ensure proper air removal during the pressing process.
The LabEcon press comes standard with an exhaust or extraction hood mounted on top of the unit.
This hood can be connected to an existing ventilation system via a Jacob Ø200 mm connection flange, allowing for the safe removal of heat and fumes and ensuring a clean and safe laboratory environment.

| Rolling Table | The rolling table consists of integrated ball bearings, making it easier and safer to insert and remove molds while ensuring an efficient workflow. |
| Light and Sound Signal | An optical and acoustic signal indicates the current press cycle status, providing clear visual and audible feedback to the operator. |
| Heating Capacity up to 400 °C | The heating capacity of the LabEcon models can be extended to 400 °C, allowing a wider range of materials to be processed. |
| Fast Heating System | With the fast heating option, the LabEcon press can reach a heating rate of 20 °C per minute. This significantly reduces cycle times – for example, 180 °C is reached in just 8 minutes (instead of 16) and 400 °C in only 19 minutes (instead of 38). |
| Active Cooling System | Automated water-cooling of the press plates, controlled by electric valves. This allows the press to be quickly prepared for applications that require a lower temperature setpoint. On request, the system can be configured according to ASTM D4703, achieving a cooling rate of 15 °C/min. |
| Multiple Openings | Adding multiple openings between the upper and lower plates enables a greater number of samples to be processed in a single press cycle. Each opening can have its own heating and cooling parameters, providing maximum flexibility for complex testing requirements. |
| Steel, Aluminum, or Copper Plates | Optional press plates made of steel, aluminum, or copper allow for specific temperature distribution profiles tailored to each application. |
