Viscometers – Mooney Viscometers by Prescott Instruments
Precise. Versatile. High-Performance.
Prescott Instruments has been manufacturing high-quality viscometers in the UK for over 30 years, specialising in applications within the rubber, polymer and elastomer industries.
The most widely used viscometer for rubber testing is the Mooney Viscometer. During testing, a rotor rotates at a speed of 2 revolutions per minute (RPM) inside a heated, enclosed test cavity filled with uncured rubber. The instrument measures the torque required to rotate the rotor through the material, allowing the determination of Mooney viscosity.
All Prescott Instruments viscometers have been specifically designed to meet the requirements of modern rubber testing laboratories. Ergonomic design, advanced functionality and powerful Labline software ensure precise, reliable and repeatable test results.
Explore the Mooneyline Range
Smart Mooney Viscometer – Compact Mooney Viscometer
The Mini Mooney Viscometer is a particularly compact instrument with a footprint of less than 0.1 m². It is ideally suited to small and medium-sized laboratories with lower testing throughput.
The instrument measures Mooney viscosity and Mooney scorch in accordance with leading international industry standards.
Mooney Viscometer – High-Performance Mooney Viscometer
The Mooney Viscometer is an established testing instrument in the rubber industry. Since its invention by Melvin Mooney in 1933, the Mooney method has been widely used to determine the viscosity of uncured rubber.
The Mooneyline MV is a high-performance instrument suitable for all stages of the rubber manufacturing process and for testing a wide variety of elastomeric and rubber compounds.
Mooney Viscometer Variable Speed – Variable-Speed Mooney Viscometer
The Mooney Viscometer Variable Speed is an advanced viscometer featuring an adjustable rotor speed ranging from 0.1 to 20 revolutions per minute (RPM).
Variable rotor speed enables a more comprehensive analysis of material behaviour and provides additional insights when testing challenging rubber and elastomer compounds.
